(They thought it was kind of odd. . . )That is cool that you would pop in like that. It would never even cross my mind.
Who did you talk to at Archer? Chris?(They thought it was kind of odd. . . )

Hardnose? Now that's a rare one these days. Some experienced loggers still swear by them. I must admit I have replaced the tips on a dozen or so sprocket nose bars for these guys. Loggers tend to beat those sprocket tips to death. Meanwhile, the rest of the bar is still good.Just got 2- 25" hardnose raisman bar and chain combos, for flip saws from hl supply @$38 each. They look great and the chain is sharp as hell, almost looks square filed as said before. I have yet to run them. Gonna hang one on the 066 this week and see how it rips.View attachment 46004
dirty wood is hell on a sprocket tip.Hardnose? Now that's a rare one these days. Some experienced loggers still swear by them. Anybody compared this stuff to the new archer stuff? I picked up an Archer .325 full chisel combo for my 346 and it was kinda slow. I filed it and it's still kinda slow.
@Iron.and.bark mentioned that the Archer .325 had a very wide kerf. That would surely cause it to slow downYep I've got a loop of fc 3/8lp on the go ATM and don't rate it at all. Still slow after sharpening a couple times and lowering the rakers a bit. It also stretches, I recon I'll be out of adjustment by the time I'm to half a tooth
@Gentleman if you get a chance could you take a picture of the 3/8lp full chisel? Also will you be selling loops or only in bulk reels?
Yes we have the 100' reels too. We are running low on some. We are supposed to get more in next week.@Gentleman if you get a chance could you take a picture of the 3/8lp full chisel? Also will you be selling loops or only in bulk reels?
Did a comparison against the Raisman chain with a brand new Oregon square ground chain both on the same bar and saw. Put the Oregon on and gave it try through some oak seamed to cut OK. Checked the adjustment and did 3 cuts through a frozen Norway Pine at 14 seconds each. Re-installed the Raisman and made 3 cuts through same log at 11 seconds each. The Raisman did feel a bit grabby in the cut, the Oregon did not, might be a couple thousandths off the rakers start to even the score? For me it was to see if the square ground was worth the effort to run as a work chain. The results proved interesting enough to me to post here. The next big question I have is to see if this Raisman chain can be sharpened the same way as it came, this I don't know.
The Raisman 3/8LP full chisel is not like 63PS. It's not a true full chisel chain, in my opinion, but more between semi and full. I bought a few loops to try and square file, but it doesn't have that sharp corner needed for that.@Gentleman if you get a chance could you take a picture of the 3/8lp full chisel? Also will you be selling loops or only in bulk reels?
Not having any trouble with mine. Good buy for the money, especially if you can catch it on a sale. I went through 100' of 325, 063. One tree company asked me to make 15 loops for Stihl saws and has registered no complaints.any up dates on this chain? likes dislikes?
