Hardnose bars

Anyone use them? Why do you like them?

I use one for stumping it is a HLS 24 bar I got on sale and for low maintenance. Definitely have to open up the oiler holes.

No. I believe Wayne means "wider", as in larger radius versus a sprocket nose bar.

I've got my brothers 20 inch husky. Hardnose bar it still looks great he used it a year on a 288 for small stuff i will try it out see if i can tell a difference.

I run them on all of my homelites, I love the fact I don't have to worry about those flimsy sprocket nose tips. It is a lot to remember to grease them. Between my sod cutting and stumping. Lol!

I suspect it has to do with functionality without the sprocket nose to keep the chain secure.

I have one I used a couple of times,It seems to take a lot more power to run them,Probably why the tip is so much wider,Lessens the drag.

Ironically, many of the hardnose bars cost more than an equivalent size sprocket nose. I've got a few but never use them.
