I'm in on that this type of axe doesn't give a whole lot of street cred, and it's sure not for everyone, but if you're 6' tall, and have the strength to deal with it, the Fiskars Pro IsoCore XXL is a very fast solution, for stuff that takes a bit more effort.
In most cases, it's possible to make it split on the first whack. So while it takes more energy to use per hit, it's saving energy overall on hitting less times.
This year I did like 15 chords with it, swapping a bit back and forth in the beginning, between my old 6 pound maul and the Fiskars. After a while I didn't bother bringing the 6 pound maul out anymore.
Somehow the design of the Fiskars, works better than anything else I've had so far.
