What did you use to cut your wedge notch? Looks nice and wide for a good thick wedge.got some large pick axe mattock handles and cut them back

Very smart never thought of pinching the cut together and cutting it again. I use a hand saw as well but never get the double width like you have. Thanks!I use a normal wood saw too cut the wedge notch then I put the handle back
The vice and squash t(e cut closed then I go down through with the same
Hand saw and when you take it out the vice you got a darn good slot
