What would I look for to see that? I’m as good of a gunsmith as I am at fixing saws and I’m $hit at fixing saws
Just use em, look after them good and hope they don’t break haha

I feel ya there!

I would browse forums like Cast Boolits, Marlin Owners, Greybeard Outdoors. There is lots of info there about troubleshooting lever actions. First make sure all the screws on the barrel bands are reasonably snug and ensure the mag tube and forend are not cockeyed or torqued in one direction. May also want to take the magazine tube completely out and test fire, see if anything changes. While you're at it, look for fresh scrapes on the metal parts to indicate if something has shifted.

Started messing with the guide rod. It went from a simple solid 304 stainless idea to a tungsten powder filled one...... (factory is probably either a low stainless or chromoly and hollow tube. I did the calculations and it would still be within legal weight for Production division and Carry optic with some small wiggle room (Optic dependent of course).
EDIT: not updated in the technical drawling but I went ahead and increased the .31 to .315 as an ideal diameter. .31 would be the max tolerance.

Now I'm working on a trigger.

I'll probably send this one off to get printed in metal, I've undersized the holes and oversized the rest slightly.
I may also make the trigger's "Shoe" thicker, it already was thicker than stock but just a little extra reach shouldn't hurt.

Neighbor brought his rifle over for a few test rounds. They were grouping within 10fps. He also had a few buggered rounds to use up. He had removed the chrono before firing that last round.

6.5cr is kinda known for primer flowback, used in ar platforms it's recommended to use a 'high pressure bolt', meaning it has a smaller firing pin/hole and sometimes dual extractors. Magnum primers also help.

Or, just load them to less than max levels. Hot rodding this round with as much H4350 as you can stuff in there has long been popular. My loads are midrange in charge and the primers look like any other round. Also, faster powders work great in the 6.5. My favorite of all is IMR 8208. 32 grains under a Sierra GK 140 goes into the same mostly round hole at 150 yards from my Remington 700 sporter.

There is an upcoming auction that has some stuffs that has peaked my interest.

Curious as to your thoughts.

Keep in mind I won’t be able to lay eyes on them until Sunday, I have a call into the auctioneer for more details.

Ruger 9mm carbine

Ruger Model 57 5.7 x 28

Husqvarna 7.5 x 55

I had been looking at the Ruger 5.7 but I honestly had no need for it.

I have a Husqvarna 6.5x55 it's basically a Mauser action but there is no parts interchangeability as memory serves.

There's a high chance it's sporterized, so it's up to your personal taste. It's a good rifle with a good cartridge, but expect to be reloading for it.
Also, I'm expecting the 7.5 to be a typo.
There is a 7.5x55 swiss though.

Possibly a typo, I wouldn’t want to be typing all that stuff in.

I assume they are talking about the current Ruger PC carbine not the older one from the 90's. I had one of the current ones for awhile and used Glock mags in it. Nice gun, but surprisingly bulky for only being 9mm. Felt bigger than an AR carbine. I never was particularly impressed with the accuracy so sent it down the road. Really nothing wrong with the PC carbine, its just not for me, I like the extra range and accuracy of my Ruger AR-556 with about the same size and weight.

I have/had husqvarnas and 6.5x55’s, I’m a fan of both.
Some husqvarna’s are 96 action mausers some are 98’s some are their own creation, all are safe with 6.5 Swede and usually excellent shooters. Plus they usually sell cheap

Yes, I believe it’s the newer one. I won’t see it until Sunday if I make it to the auction.

I am more interested in the 5.7, unfortunately the rifles sell first.
