Many folks have told me those 710's could really shoot in spite of how cheap they were.

I can confirm that statement. I have had 2 of them, one in 7mm Mag, the other in 30-06. Only complaint I had about them was the bolt stop is weak, and you can pull the bolt out the back of the reciever with a spirited pull. My brother has the '06 now and it is his primary long range rifle

The 7mm was copper fouled badly when I got it. I ended up fire-lapping the bore with one of those Tubb final finish kits (abrasive coated bullets, designed to polish bores) and it turned into a tack driver. I was getting sub 1" groups at 200 yards consistently with handloads

It is a Laser, I gave it a scope upgrade not long after this picture to a Leupold VX Freedom 3-9X40 and it is even better now that I can actually see the target at 100 yards. It's a toss up of which is the most accurate rifle I own either this, my 70s vintage 700 BDL 7mm Mag wearing a Vari-X III 3.5-10X50, and my Sako L461 Vixen .223 wearing a VX3 3.5-10X50

The Sako is probably the most accurate but it's REALLY close.

The cheap 788 bolt gun was a sleeper. My 1980 .243 was the most accurate Remington I ever owned.

There was a time the 788s would sell for 100-150.00 because everyone favored the 700
Not now i know several guys that collect them
And several guy's still hunting with 6mm 788s
Tack drivers in every caliber i shot.

The Savage Axis and Marlin designed Remington 783 are probably the closest thing to the 788 being made today. My own two Axis .308's shoot better than I can hold, for sure.

Picked this up today
Seems very well built really nice sights
U notch with red fiber optic front
Green rear
Horrible trigger pull it's dragging against itself somewhere I'll work on it soon as i have time.
Very comfortable and tightly fitted for a polymer pistol
Very nice smith 2.0 type stippling
For 200.00 good so far.

OK thanks. Never heard of it before.
Here's one review
If it's reliable i can easily fix the trigger
Issues.
Feels to be a good shootable size like the glock 43 and shield plus.
