I've shot many of their 1911s armscor is the oem manufacturer rock island is the brand name
They also made many 1911s sold under different names over the year's.
I have heard nothing but positive about them and good customer service.
The one's I shot were on par with any clone 1911
I just have a couple of the Turkish sds clones or I would've bought a ra

Rock Islands are good guns but the Turkish SDS/Tisas are better for about the same money or even less. We have both at my side job shop and the Tisas (imported by SDS) have much better parts fit and metal finish. The Tisas U.S. Army mil spec is quite handsome, at first glance it looks and feels like an actual military gun fresh from a really good re-Parkerizing.

Also, today I tried the Arsenal Molds 359-130-RF in my gen 5 Glock 19.They are sized to .358 with RCBS 80008, seated 1.070 with 3.8 grains HP-38. The gun is factory stock in every way and the rounds plunk quite easily. Function was 100% and accuracy was about the same as my other 9mm pistols with this load. Upon cleaning, I was pleasantly surprised to discover way less fouling than I expected. It's not uncommon for this load to leave little streaks of leading near the muzzle but there was none whatsoever. Love this pistol, best Glock has ever made!

Any of you gents tried out the PSA Dagger ? I have a buddy that says they are the best deal out there right now. Apparently they are a knock off of the Glock 19.

I am not as tuned in as some do I am sure some of you have tried them.

Ugh. Went to the fun store today to cash in some gun equity to pay vet bills and walked out with this instead. Practically new Savage Axis .308, the cheap scope and mounts is already on Fleabay.

I already had a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 and Leupold mounts in my gun junkyard. Got 'em installed, hopefully can test drive soon.

This afternoon I snuck out to the field for a quick test drive. Distance was only 65 yards but she was making nice clusters. Ammo was 37 grains IMR 4895 under a 180 grain slug, which is actually a .300 Savage load. Seems appropriate that this rifle would like it! One thing that impressed me is how the cheap plastic stock actually fits me quite well. Recoil and muzzle jump is about like a .30-30. The trigger is pretty creepy but quite serviceable for hunting use.

Only thing I really don't like about this rifle and most modern bolt actions in general is they all use expensive proprietary mags. The Axis mag is really thin, spot welded sheet metal, about on par with those no name pistol mags in every gun shop's bargain bin. The base plate and follower are just plastic, as is the mag latch. And yet these things are like $40-50.00 apiece. It would make way more sense to use a proven design like the AR-10 or AI style mag, but I guess they have to gouge you somewhere. If somebody like Promag came out with a substitute for half the price that would be pretty sweet. Or, create a fixed mag option like the Remington 700.

I ordered a trigger spring and shim kit for the Savage and put it on. I was surprised at how much it improved the pull. Got rid of most of the mushy take up and gave it a more crisp release.

Gave the rifle some more exercise with the new trigger parts today. It was not a good marksmanship day for me so I only made a couple of decent groups but it is definitely shooting point of aim at 100 yards. Glad I didn't pass it up!

Anybody seen the 9mm AK's from Century? I've wanted a 9mm carbine like forever and really like the looks of them. Nobody makes a 9mm AR that is built the way I like it for less than a grand. I'd have to figure out something to sell first though.

I am really interested in the round fired from a long barrel. I know that at about 75 yards the bullets start to tumble out of my cz 75 compact.
