Got one of these bad boys coming in the mail here in the next week or so. What all will i need to find to go from rock boss to a chainsaw?
Im guessing crank halves and the oiler assembly. Anything else i should be looking for?

Also, the guy says the crank is supposedly snapped. So im guessing ill need a crank and maybe a piston.

If anybody has these parts that they would like to sell, give me a hollar

Might need a coil. Most rock saws are limited to low rpm.

Leave it is as, sell it then go buy a MS and you could probably have enough left over to get a port job.

Probably not a terrible point to be honest

I'm just thinking of the little adventure I had with wanting to convert a MS 360 QAVXYZGPTO
back to normal and how I would of been money and time ahead and just getting a runing 360.

Alright, im changing gears. This saw is way too good to convert.

I need oem part numbers for gs461:
Piston kit
Crank assembly
Crank seals
Crank bearings
Chain tensioner
Gasket kit

I know some normal 461 parts fit but im not 100% sure about the tensioner, seals and bearings. Any feedback would be great

Piston, crank, gasket kit, and probably crank bearings/seals should be the same on a normal 461. If you want, though, I will be splitting the cases on my 461 to replace the crank so I can measure the bearings, seals, etc and report back so we can see if they are the same.

Erverything the same except the chain tensioner. I went to my dealer and racked up a $450 parts bill lol

Same crank as a 460?

Piston looks ok through ex port.

Did you check piston clearance?

I know parts have gone up on cost, but an oem seal kit and bearings should only set you back around $75 or so. Need an OEM PTO bearing and any good 6202 C3 for the fly side. I use SKF, but after one failed I’ve been a Nachi guy mostly.

So, what did you get for the $450 price tag?

Yes same crank as 460. The piston really fooled me. Balls from the bearings made it on top of the piston somehow and trashed her out. I got bearings, seals, chain tensioner(which was stupid high) piston kit, and clutch assembly which is also very high and gaskets
