My first crack @ bowl turning on the lathe.
It's not perfect, but was a great learning experience. I'm hooked!

And yep it is. My neighbor had a large one taken down last year when we had a public sewer system put in. The crew let me have it for firewood and I noticed a lot of it was curly, + I ran into some spalting. Some darn awesome stuff!
My dad has the Duracraft/Craftsman and I found one exactly like it on craigslist. Paid $80 and got a full set of tools to boot. I don't have pics, but it looks like this:
