Nice Julian !
I'm liking the look on the stock 661 cover.

I'm resigned to knowing that I'll be running the MaxFlow setup, including their cover. I hear that it might be a great fitting piece thats been field tested with great results :)
Now how would you know that???

I think the air box gets positive pressure if you have the air dam in the winter position. It comes from this hole. image.jpeg

Don't they get positive pressure off the flywheel either way? There's a port from the flywheel housing right into the air box.

I asked Tree Monkey about this a few months back. This is what I remember him saying...

He said ...even in the winter you still would run summer setting. The only reason to switch to the winter setting is if you have icing in the carb. Then you draw in the hot air from the engine to de-ice the carb. He also said icing can happen a lot more often than people think. There doesn't have to be snow on the ground. It just takes the right conditions and circumstances...and of course I don't remember what he said exactly on those! lol sorry :roto2nuse:

If you take the summer setting out, yes, you have more air and more air flow, but it's hot air.

You want cool air. cool air = more power

Sorry I should have elaborated a little more on my thought. If you block the port I took the picture of the saw will draw fresh air through the frogzskin instead of hot air getting pushed out of them because of the positive pressure.

Does anyone know if a maxflow will fit on a stihl ms 441 rcm? I assume it will because it uses a HD2 air filter.. but I talked with the Maxflow company and they assured me that it can't fit. Not the cover just the filter part.
