Must be the stuff you mill. I'm lucky to get 2 cuts with a hd2 and a cover. Without a cover it still sucks chips in.

the stuff i mill is usually a done the day i fall it ,or within the week so it is pretty wet ,keeps the dust down .
Even wet hardwoods make small chips that pack in. The softest stuff I milled was poplar down about a week. It was like cutting butter. Still was packing up but not near as quick.

which sprocket cover do you run ? I run the short one ,it throws the chips away from the saw to the left better than the full wrap cover .the full one throws them back at the log, may help my mill on tracks helps also

I've got both. Now mostly the large one. I won't be using my 46 much for milling any more any way if I can get a 394 together.

You know, McMaster-Carr sells stainless steel mesh screen that can be cut to size. I bought some 0.005" x 12" square to make extra breathers for my 3120. It won't look as high-speed, low-drag as the Skins, but you don't have to worry about a stick poking a hole in one either. And they will pass a fire test.

Here's how I sent it to CT. 2 on the sides and one big one on top.
