This one is correct for the 1300 non-limited standard coil.

This one is correct for the limited coil that some 064s had. This is a very common flywheel that is usless without the correct coil (which is hard to find in working order).

This one is for either a Prufex or a 1300 coil. It will not work with the 064 oddball coil though.

Now what I do is line up the magnets and clamp the flywheels together with the one that works with the 1300 coil on top. Then press the broaching key thru both coils. This gives me a slight cut to go by on the bottom flywheel.

Here are the tools.......

I don't quite understand this. Do you mean you press the broaching key through both flywheels instead of both coils, or am I missing your meaning altogether?

Just as a bit of hill billy engineering you can make a broach tool from thread tap .Grind the teeth off, grind a cutting edge and use a heavy drill press as an arbor ,nibble it then finish with a file .It's slow but what the hey if that's all you have .

Seems to me like a huge amount of work when you could easily just get in there with a hacksaw blade locked in a pair of vice grips, then just flail around until you've removed enough material to allow the flywheel to rotate through a few degrees. That way while the saw is running, if you don't like the advance it has you just stick a branch through the starter cover and nock the flywheel a couple degrees different. Whalah...adjustable timing.

You're welcome.

I didn't take any pictures while I was using the tools in the press.......got the tunnel vision.

Questions?

Comments?

Mild Criticisms?

Question: (and a dumb one at that) Are you doing this to run a coil other than what the saw came with?
