I bought a 48" from the get go, was priced only 15€ higher than a 36" CSM.

Love/hate CSM…each slab is like opening a present…but it is slow inefficient hard work.

What is the recommended cutter angle for milling chains?

The loop I used yesterday is getting too narrow for bucking anyway so I may just go 15/10/5° (whatever) on future grinds and turn it into a dedicated milling chain.
The shorter ground back cutters certainly help reduce load and pinching didn't seem to be an issue with driving wedges into the cut anyway.

Ripping chain here are typically 10 degrees at least on Stihl 33RMX and 46RMX.

Yeah, so?

Shorter cutter, narrower cut, faster cutting speed, less load to the PH.
It is a triple win!

I’m not sure if going to either more or less than 10% will make a difference between softer wood or harder wood.
