Bumpity!!!!

Love the forklift idea, but the dual forklift setup is just crazy! o_O

I am getting set up for milling, I have no idea how to go about it.
Waiting on a dedicated milling bar to be delivered, then I will try figuring out the process on a nice piece of cherry.

This was just a mockup, I will not use my full wrap PS-9010 for milling.
My secondary PS-9010 will take that task.

Would this walnut be good for milling/boards?
The big trunk piece, the other section has already been bucked up to firewood.
The trunk is about 24" OD.

Waterjet that!

Is that just sand/dirt, or does it include stones/pebbles.
If it is just the former You could try a carbide tipped chain, which YES will be a bit expensive and cut slower.

Or, GTG competition - whoever cuts the most slabs is the winner.
Prize - firm pat on the shoulder and a "Well done!" from the host.

I am going to hijack Your thread for one post, I hope You do not mind.

My first ever CSM slab.
I wanted to make a second slab before dark but the 24" B&C setup is too short and I couldn't swap out bars to my 36" B&C setup on the quick.
Cherry, been cut down last fall.
Been siting in the sun most of this summer.

I am just test milling, as such I am utilizing chains for regular bucking.
The surface finish is extremely coarse.

As soon as I get my 2100cd running, I am going to see about milling with it, I will need a longer bar, only have a 28" now, but don't want to spend the money on a bar and mill setup until I know the saw runs!

I have a Iggesund Forest 36" bar that sees a fair amount of bucking - very good quality.
I did get a affordable 52" bar just for my CSM setup, if I happen to run this bar it will be powered by one of my PS-9010's.

Bars do not have to be in the 100's of $ if they are going to see only occasional usage.

I imagine the 272 & 066 of Yours would be OK for occasional milling! ;)

Regarding picking a CSM bar length, keep in mind You loose about:
- 2" on the bar nose
- 3-4" on the CSM bar clamps
- 1-3" on the saws bucking spikes if You don't take them off

That been said, I realized yesterday that a 24" bar can't really mill anything worthy milling.

Yep, 36" will do fine.

I paired my Dolmar PS-7300 with my 36" B&C setup and milled 4 slabs 20" at the widest.

Am I correct in assuming CSMing is contagious?
I milled in the pitch black dark with a LED spot light and a LED headlamp , in the rain.

My PS-7300 performed exceptionally.
I let her cool down during & between cuts.
