I finally got around to doing the proper muffler modification for this saw.

Ok it's not all the way done... Its something like 12* degrees outside and I'm just not going to walk over to the farm and weld it up!!!!

I used 3/8" steel fuel line and cut and sanded to this point.

I forgot in that video it had the stock cover...... I have run it with this hacked up cover and it makes you grin :D so hopefully the cover above makes you grin twice.:p

Sweet, sorta reminds me of top fuel headers.
Was there any concern that the angle/cut pipes will burn the chain brake or the wrap handle?
With that much exhaust opening I'm anxious to see the test run video.


In that picture it's not welded the pipes will angled away from the handles a bit more when done. I'll be test cutting hopefully after work today... How much is too much??? That is the question!!! I can close off the front if needed easily.

Are you asking about stock covers? If so yes Stihl made a few different covers and some are more open then others. I picked this cover because it shape best fit what I was trying to build.
