Stihl 041 Muffler help

I have what I believe to be an 041 I am helping a friend rebuild, and the muffler is in rough shape. It only has 1 mounting tab saw, where the stuff online all has 2 tabs. Any clue on what the actual replacement part for this is?

your muffler has 3 mounting bolts. I would clean and reweld where the manifold goes into the expansion chamber/box. IIRC that is a brazed weld depending on your abilities it could be wire welded as well. Be careful of the intake part of the cyl as you could create a vacuum leak (Been There done that). if you decide to replace it the Super is different than the regular 041. Good luck...

I'd get that all cleaned up with a wire wheel, then fix the bad spots with a torch and brazing rod.

Get the surface that mates the cyl, clean and true, with some coarse wet/dry paper in a piece of plate glass.
