Only 2 things keep me from getting a 5105. That is a 421 and a 6100

You ..MAY.. be right. I have a 5105 and a 6100 now..but...my 420 went to a customer ! I feel so ashamed
I will at least get the maintaining work on it in the future .

I can't understand why anyone would want such a fat pig of a 60cc saw.

Well sometimes a man gotta do what hes got to in a pinch sometimes!!

The way I did it is I already had the 421 and the 6100, so I got a heated handle 5105. That way it has its own place, and I'm warm and toasty when it's needed

Trust me, I would. It's 15 here right now. Used to live in the warmer part of the country. Moved here for my growing family. Now I'm divorced, but my little guy needs me here. When he's off to college though, I'm outta here. Lol

I feel for u brother! I can deal with cold on a temporary basis which we had problems at work this year when it got 17° a few nights last month, but predictions for Feb. Here r mid 60s !

I so want to move south but the wife says no. She says yes to new saws and other "tools" so it is a trade off. At least SE Iowa isn't north Dakota and it is close to the Ozarks.

Ive thought Id like to live in Alaska and hunt and trap when I retire but I think I would die!! Lol!! The guys on Alaskas Last Frontiers on tv show thoso guys roughing it but heck they all have out houses but all have CAT excavators and airplanes!!!

I was lucky enough to find a slightly used 6100 and 421 but the former Dolmar dealer has a whole skid crate full of 5105 partial saws he got from the supplier for cheap and said he likely has most of what is needed to put together a rebuilder or maybe a runner .

You going to have a go ? The 5105 is even easier to work on than a 421.. IMO.

It is like the 3602f or something is the makita name and I think dolmar was going to call a 361 or 362 but they I am sure will only be makita.
