The chicken run got crushed by heavy snow last fall and needed fixing. Wife asked if I could fix it yesterday and all the lumberyards were shut so cleaned a path to the large dying white spruce I was going to take down anyway and made 20 2x4’s out of the bottom stick to repair coop.
Probably get another 80-90 out of what’s left of the tree.

A typical day. Started to be about 572 vs. 572, got distracted and it ended up being A reaction to a posting from ANOTHER 'site, NOT a discussion on this OPE forum, so please excuse the messages within, I apologies in advance. In this one start with the typical for me 2 ft plus over mature maple; then one full of metal and a rotted core. THEN pulling the bigger one on the day.. :) Fun and games. But I love the challenge and being able to do this at my advanced age. :)

But this is a part of almost everyday in the woods for me. :) Might get a chuckle at the pace

Been awhile. Been on the go, cutting and more cutting. No complaints, Been a blessing. Warm summer, home owner yesterday was concerned for crew and me, heat wise. But crew wanted to work me too. It was only 98 or so:) we had shade. I told homeowner we are conditioned for it, do it all the time. The big heat waves we will sit out:) hope all is well Amigos.

I'm a slow learner. Was cutting yesterday and got both saws pinched simultaneously. Managed to resolve it by creative use of wedges. I really need to start being extra bars and chains with me.
Or like I learned maybe wedge more even when it looks easy.
