Keep us informed on your impressions and the performance of this saw I need a new top handle and this is a model I have seriously considered. Did you look at other models/brands before buying this one? Or did you know what you wanted from the get go?? As far as pulling the limiters, I would imagine that alone could have a negative effect on your warranty unless you have a"cool" dealer... Thanks,. Matt
What saw are you running now?

I didn't really compare in hand. I looked here and other sites to get opinions. Price was a big factor considering I paid $280 out the door. We are tax exempt. For what we will be using it for, I didn't want to spend a ton of money. It won't be used daily, but will be used quite a bit in spurts. As far as the limiters, he asked me if I was willing to pay the fine from the EPA! I told him I would remove them when the warranty was up. He is my closest neighbor and let me borrow his saw in the rear handle version before I bought this one. Same motor, just uglier! I am satisfied with the power this little saw has. I know it isn't my Masterminded 461, but it serves it purpose well. It may actually lead me to trying other Echos.
Well send that saw to master mind too. It will sound like a pissed off Lil beeyach just idling. We had 1 show up to the county fair chainsaw races

Well the 355 is about the same weight and will rip like the 020t but it won't spin the rpm your 020 will coming out of a cut.
Don't you also have a 360? I looked at a really clean one the other day and it's probably down to the 360,new355 or a clean 200 but I don't have any experience with the Echo's. So any insight is appreciated.. Matt

I do have a 360t and I love it I'm running a 14 inch 200t stihl bar on it cause they last much longer than the echo bar. The saw was purchased new and gutting the cat out of the muffler is a must and a Lil mm work, I lite bump on timing and drilled some holes in the air filter cover so it wouldn't suck in so much wood chip. But I really love the saw its a torque monster and revs nice in heavy cuts hard maple oak asH. Imo if can can find a nice one used for cheep then swoop it up as a back up saw or every day runner.

I am not exactly familiar with the 355 limiters but if there like any other limiters you should be able to mod them and put them back in with more/full adjustment without raising too much suspicion. However if its not lean and tuned right with enough room to richen/lean it does not 'have' to be done.

I think you can also purchase the caps new too. Me I'm not worried about warranty on saws if tuned right. It's the first 5 tanks or less that will have a internal issue. IL fatten them up asap on echos and a Lil bit in stihl. I like a good runner and that's what il make of any saw that is just ok or a turd. 6 years of hard use on my echo and it shows no sign of taking a chit on me. At the chainsaw gtg and races it has been 1 of the top dog performing top handle saws.

Thanks for the info, that's what I needed to know, for the most part I would use it as a tractor/truck saw mainly limb saw but I wanted something with enough power to cut a small tree if the situation arose. That would eliminate having to carry 2 saws on days your not really planning on using a saw but need to carry one just in case and being something that is going to roll around in a truck/tractor the price is right. Looks like it fits the bill! Thanks,Matt....

My echo has been the best top handle saw I've ever owned heavy but in the same range as 200t. Works like a stihl, runs like a honda cuts like a good chain should. Also own the stihl 150t and love it on big trim jobs but may look into a echo 2511 or 355t too

I have a 355 , great saw. Thinking about picking up the 2511 and throwing a 1/4" stihl chain and bar on it.
