thats right, it's more ranked as semi pro saw, but most semi pro saws last. With a price tag 600$ customers should expect more then what they get with the 439, I've seen one total blown 439 who had two month duty.
We can speak down on other brands but Husky has alot junk themself.
classic example of junk saw is Huskies 439.All brands have as far as I know, at least at times.
Then it is of course a matter of how you define "junk"...
watch the plastic on your echos.much much sharper edges than on the chain.some say its because of *s-wordty craftsmanship but it is actually due to the Kamakazi Ninja type of plastic injection.you actually have to be as tough as John Wayne and have a death wish to operate an Echo.
true story here....i was logging a mountain side one time with my 600p.it had been freezing for several days.i kicked the heels of my double H logging boots in the freshly thawed ground and done a plunge cut in a Huge 12" diameter Maple about the time i got that 20" Blade halfway through i swear to god the power band kicked in and threw my feet out from under me.next thing i knew i was sliding belly first 100 ft down the mountain.the whole time my finger had pinned the throttle wide open.end of the bar was within spittin distance of my juggular in my neck.i *s-word you not i was more afraid of that brittle plastic bustin due to it being so cold.really that echo plastic would have done me in.i hockied myself just thinking about it.been almost as bad as pissin of chuck norris.

The plastic on the Echo saws I have handled has sharp corners, and feels brittle when I knock on it - it leaves no confidence at all, and looks bad into the bargain (+ the total lack of "taste" in the design, typical Japanese). For people that are used to look at Chinese plastic, it may of course look OK, but it really isn't. Breakages of the tank unit where the handlebar attaches to it have happened even on the 620, for no obvious reason, and that isn't a good sign for other (lesser) models.
Japanese plastic just isn't as good as Swedish or German plastic - like it or not. It shows on the Zenoah made 543xp as well - that saw doesn't deserve the xp designation (for more reasons than just that, but anyway).
Why do you think that all "sporty" looking Japanese cars are designed by Europeans? Clue, it isn't a coincidence, they admit to the fact that Japanese people lack "taste".
Horse feathers , that's one of the dumbest statements I've read . You're really reaching to make a point there Niko .
Plastic feels brittle when I knock on it.....hahahaha !! , try knocking on your head !
I was waxing my Shiro Nakamura designed Nissan GTR -R this evening and got cut on the reflection of the rear view mirror surround .
