That was a used saw i bought that i had put 3 tanks through before i tore it down to give it the XPW treatment.

That was by no means 3 tanks worth of carbon.

This is very good to know.
I'm learning about red armor. I run it in a Echo weedeater. I was starting to have visions of a tear down.

Hmm, sounds like I need to get some of this stuff! Strangely, I have been using Stihl Ultra at 40:1 lately 'cause I got some for free and my machines seem to really like it.

Ultra oil has quite a high flash point, it will lube well but it will not
be the cleanest, unless you run hot, its about 220c if I remember,
HusqvarnXp oil is the opposite, 36f flash point, I seen it go boom
in a saw that was running lean.

I have a lot of customers bring me equipment with plugged up spark arrestor screens. They are usually running stihl ultra.
Most likely they are not running 50:1. It is one oil that does not do well at less than 50:1, (40 or 32:1)

The saws I see running the ultra are fine the only ones that plugged solid with carbon are run on orange bottle Stihl.

My spark arrestors and catalysts went bye bye a long time ago. How well does it do with an open exhaust? I'm using it at 40:1 right now.

At 12000 RPM would it matter?
I was thinking of the oil laying on the flat in the picture
above, if it could run down the inside of the crank towards the bearing, it
would have a better chance of doing something productive.
