I have removed the filter piece before. I'm sure it helps a little, but the saw is a bit of a spitter. Saturated the filter with fuel in short order. Does that one have a brake or a handguard? Seems like all the others I've seen have no brake, just a white plastic handguard. Is it a Canada market version?
I dunno if this is a Canadian saw or not, but it has the metal vanguard. Maybe they never come.with chainbrake's? The new 1201's I've seen pictures of don't seem to have a chainbrake.
