Care to elaborate on why? I can find very little information on this saw online. Is lucky enough to find the owners manual in PDF. Years of production? Flaws? Badass saw?

It's no speed demon, but it won't stop in the cut either.
It's clean and old. Echo will run forever if they don't sit n rot

My brother's saw, picked up at auction for 60.00 in fine working order. Any information would be great.

These saws have a closed port cylinder, 45mm bore x 31mm stroke (cs5000), and with little work can be made to run quite well, I only wish these used the full skirt piston like the 4000,4500,4600 (and others), though they're windowed pistons of coarse, just not full skirt, I like the full skirt a little better......quite sure these are an early to mid/late 90's saw.........:)

Thank you for the help. I need to go through it, change the plug, check the spark arrestor screen, and the chain hasn't been filed properly.

Your welcome, one other thing I've noticed on nearly all these saws when taring them down was, even though they ran good before tare down, they were on a path of destruction, small bits of carbon from build up at the exhaust port were starting to work on the piston and cylinder, if I had not caught it when I did, they would have failed in the near future, I was fortunate to be able to save them, something you might want to check.......

Thanks Lee. Sweet machines they were making back then.

I have a NOS 750 but iwas used as a parts saw and the handle bar and
bracket are missing. Hopefully someday i will find them NOS to complete
the saw.
I like all those series Echos with the chrome fan screens.
