If anyone needs a parts saw for a cs302 I know where one is ? Not mine, condition unknown ? Should be cheap. IMG_5016.JPG

Looking for the muffler bolt thread pitch and length for a evl 650. They rattled out of my buddys saw.

Last night I used the CS-400 to cut some 10-12" logs to size for stacking which had originally been cut with the Dolly 5105. Really, the 400 is not that much slower than the 5105 in wood of this size which has not been dead for very long. Now, I wouldn't choose it for any job which requires burying the bar but this saw is certainly more capable than it's size would suggest. I use Oregon VXL chain on the 400 with the original 18" bar. I think the more aggressive chain helps primarily by ejecting chips faster. In my experience, low kickback chain can get bogged down on larger wood because the chips don't get moved out of the kerf as efficiently. On a sub-40 cc saw in smaller wood there isn't that much difference.

Good, hopefully I won't have to bid on it!

That's what I was thinking too. Me and a friend really want to get a big saw to have when needed but I got too many irons in the fire right now to be thinking about another saw to just sit in my shed until the weather cools down to use it. Also only use we would have for it around here is milling. Biggest tree I have at my house my cs-590 will handle no problem.

Well, the 800 is up to $275.00 so I'm out. My local dealer gets $850.00 for these new so that could still be a good deal if the piston and cylinder aren't toast.

Got me another echo yesterday. Got a cs-305 to go along side my cs-590 and my pb-500. Got $50 in it. A little cleaning and a new air filter and filter cover and it should be ready to do some limbing.

Wow, good deal! I have a CS-3000 which is the top handle version. I completely rebuilt mine a few years ago so let me know if you ever have questions about it. I have some extra parts and bars and chains floating around too. As I'm sure you know, these things aren't much on power but they sure are fun!!

Thanks! It’s looking like I may need to change the recoil spring. It comes back but as you can see the handle hangs down. Off to YouTube lol.

I can also see what people mean when they praise the 200t rear handle version balance. I like this top handle engine with the rear handle design. Doesn’t feel like it weighs anything compared to my husqvarna 51 and my cs 590

My experience is that quite often these have been yanked out of place by someone being too enthusiastic about starting it, just retensioning the spring may be all it needs. I think I have an air filter cover, let me look through the saw junkyard...

Echo now makes a rear handle version of the CS-355T, it looks pretty sweet. Hopefully, I can find one on Fleabay or a pawn shop for low money sometime.
