I want to remove the limiters from the H and L carb adjustment screws on my Echo 490 chainsaw so I can tune it to avoid being too lean, etc. Are there any special steps that I should take? Once I remove the limiters, will a regular, small, screwdriver work? Thanks, Ed

Slowly screw in the screws until they seat gently seat, measuring the turns on each one as you go, so you can re set them back to where they were
if you loose track or have difficulty tuning the carb again.
Use a wood screw to remove the limiters.
Here is a vodeo showing what is involved.
