Yes, the common "packing tape" we get here is next to useless on matte cardboard, it will hold nicely on glossy cardboard surfaces though.

I'll take a look on my PC whether I have any pictures of my taped packages and post them if so.

A couple members I had the pleasure dealing with received a box or two from me, they can comment on my packing practices if they choose to.
Your boxes don’t count. We can barely get the tape to stick, where your tape has mitered corners and stuff.

I used to like the easy tear cheap duct tape. I used it to patch up leaking pipes for chicken feed. The other *s-word was too hard to get off the roll. I used lots of it.

Wrap the tape all the way around so it sticks to itself mikazi you can’t hardly go wrong. This is coming from a taping enthusiast

It's nice to network with fellow tapeocologists.

You can almost rationalize 'easy-tear' duct tape, if you were using it for it's implied purpose (I know there is a lot of controversy about it's origins) of sealing duct work or containers: it does not require a lot of tensile strength for that purpose.

For the life it has taken on (books, movies, prom dresses, etc.), that still seems like an abomination to me.

This is my new favorite tape, it works extremely well for packaging and as a bonus is cardboard color! Lol
That looks like the stuff I have been seeing on a number of cartons. Pretty pricey in that ad; looks like some better pricing on line, especially if you buy enough to get free shipping.
