Dual power heads?

I have an 036 and a ms362. And I have a double ended 66" bar. Does the combination of the 036 and ms362 have the power to pull .404 milling chain on this bar?

I would say no you wouldn't have enough power to pull a 66" bar for milling.

I think it’s been proven that you don’t need to match (same) power heads for milling with a double ended bar.

As the other head really only assists the other. But having said this I wouldn’t be using a 036 with an 088, it may well work but I’d opt for at least a 440

And at a very good guess I don’t think 2 x 440's would be very good with a 66” double end bar running .404

Anyhow let us know which power heads you end up using

How about a single 395 and .063 3/8 chain?

I haven't used a 395 yet, but that still seems like asking a lot.

I have a 66 gb double .404 and run a combo of ported 2094/5 johnnys and 394 huskies. Since its heavy and requires 2 people its a little more work but it cuts faster especially in those heavily compressed or figured knotty pieces etc.
I also run a "tractor" ported 2094 Jonsered with a "60 gb and hyperskip .404 oregon milling chain as well as other smaller combos. That is slower but it pulls it just fine and alot quicker to touch up the chain as there are 11 links between each set of cutters.

But as has been said before those saws dont have enough "butt" behind them unless you just cutting balsa wood.

Skip, Ultra skip, Mega Skip, Hyper skip…it’ll work with one a ‘dem. Might only have 6 cutters on it but it’ll do it

I've recently finished milling a big Oak log, running 72" bar, single powerhead on XS3120.
We used the Oregon 27RX chain, think there's 5 drivelinks between cutters
