There is casting flash or a burr in the needle seat. Somehow it lets fuel seep byMine hasn't done this yet. What's the cause? Fuel stop in the carb not set right?

Its also a good idea to try to polish the seat if you have to drill the orifice out to increase fuel flow.Okay, Gotcha. That why on builds guys say they polish the needle seat.
Basically it's a quality control problem.

I've had problems with them flooding when I run one right after it's been shipped to me, other than that it hasn't been a problem for me, seemed odd.I've always noticed on my two Makita's that they build a lot more pressure in the fuel tank with temperature changes compared to the other brands. I started to get into the habit of cracking the gas cap before I begin to start them. If I don't, they seem to flood immediately.
How'd you find it, pulling it apart to port it.Yeah they aren’t fussy. New ones, old ones, they all do it
Most of them I’ve picked up at gtg’s or they brought them to mine. How'd you find it, pulling it apart to port it.
