My blue crew needs to kill in the fall
Three saw plan

6401 wif extra jugs 16", 18" or 20"
6401 bottom end? 24" regular or lw
8401 28" regular or 32lw

Three or four OEM jugs in 47mm around here. One on a saw and an extra One AM that was removed from a saw because of poor port timing and lack of power.

Considering a new 7900 kit.
Some say use the 7900 piston. Others think the 7910 is best.
Won't matter much if I go with another offering.

So any thoughts on
Makita?
Stihl?
Husky?
Wiseco?
Dolmar?
Solo?
Other?...
Pistons to slap in a 52mm bore?
Doubt Tim wants to sell me his so down the rabbit hole I go.

Actually you might get a wider intake using a stock piston (makita).

What is under the hood in Tims saw?
The dog free winner?
You built it Kevin.
@huskihl
Then I ran it wif a dull chain, my mistake.
Now I need one or three. My hands and wrist will thank me later.

Not sure when I'm getting a 462 now so this will fill in the gap.
About done with that 066 unless I'm into big stuff over three foot dbh. Even then a 32" Dolkita will do it backed up correctly.

The 7910 kit is what's in mine and @Glock37 Makita 6421 that Randy ported. They are killer saws!
Yup

Killer is the prime operating word that will be attached to these ladies. Got big dogs on all of them and still working on carbs. Stock is good on the 64cc saw. The big saw not so much.
Killer Smurfs seems appropriate.
Won, too and tree
Already got my Cake saw for slicing off chunks and the bumble bee for limbs. Maybe a six saw plan could work. CAD
My BAD is improving a bitsy bit, kinda :)
Time fir a cold one :beer-toast1:

If I was going to run a stock 6421 I would have a set of small dogs on it to get a bit more out of a 20", same on a stock 79.. with a 24, they do great with a 28 or a 32 with a port job.

Nope.
All will be finished ported killers by the end of summer. One is near finished already.
They will be just fine with a more bite and more bark. Not even remotely worried about bar lengths. Have so many saws this is just ice cream on the cake. Almost nothing I own has stock factory small dogs. Not even my 200Ts. Cutting older hardwoods most times.

Can someone point me in the right direction, I need a spring retention clip for the air filter on my 9010. Mines missing. I have the HD filter setup and just put a piece of cloth, folded over a couple times, on top of the filter. The plastic cover then seals the filter to the base. I don't want to run it like this. Did this so I could play with the saw yesterday. I plan on stuffin a K&N under there. I do remember reading about it in this thread ....

Edit: 7910....... I don't know why I keep typing in 9010.
Must be my lust for a 90cc Dollie.
