I have a shot to buy a Dolmar 119... I have not seen it yet but it for sale locally in the little town I live in.
It looks like a solid saw from the pics he sent me says it has carb problem

Anything to look for specifically on these saws?
I looked at the acres post and they are 61cc made starting in the late 70s

I will see if he will let me pop the muffler and take a look..and and check comp
Any pointers on these?
thanks

They're a real solid saw. A little heavy compared to modern saws.
They run very well and have more power than there competitors
of that time period.
Check the top end out. It probably will only need a carb kit.

x2 what Lee said.

They are pretty solid saws but they loose their edge in RPM and weight compared to newer saws. They have plenty of torque to run a 20" 3/8 B&C for sure. I think the last time I tuned mine out, it was pretty happy at 8200 RPM in the cut. Not blazing fast but they have torque-o-plenty. Seems like I bumped the timing on mine 3-4* too. Not sure it did a ton but I like how it runs.

Lots of people don't realize that the 119 came in the black and silver colors too. Most people see a black and silver dolmar and think its a 112- 50cc saw. I've picked up a few of these but never run into the silver version myself. wouldn't mind one for the collection if I ever trip over one at a pickin hole. :)

Hi Lee! Don't forget to let me know when you go on vacation so I can come baby sit the saw collection! :smilie-devil:

Right below where the carb sits is where the tank vent is. These have a tendency to leak fuel sometimes. Check it by filling it with fuel or tipping it to see if it is leaking.
It is a 60cc saw and runs pretty strong. The avatar I have is a Dolmar 119.

Someone just made one out of titanium. Also did you try @blust?

Fabricating titanium is way out of my skill set.
I have not tried 166 or blust...
Thanks for the suggestions.

Keith, did you get the 115 going?
