Does anyone know if there is anything special about the cabs on the Dolmar? Like what you have to do to the echo carbs?

No caps, the dolly needs a double D carb tool. Easily found in a whole kit from Amazon for under $20.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but stock both seem to be about the same... power and speed wise. Both seem to benefit about the same from a complete work over of the engine carbs and all. But the echo seems to benefit more from a MM and carb adjustment than the dol.

It seems like I'm the only one who prefers the Echo. Joe's ported 590 made me sell the Dolmar 6100 in that video clip. Full disclosure Joe bought the 6100:risas3:

I liked the fit, finish, and build quality of the two saws equally. Filtration wasn't a huge deal to me. Dolly gets the nod with "better" filtration but I felt the 590/620 was less restrictive. Both saws are built like a tank and should hold up for years if taken care of. Ultimately I prefered the balance and handling of the Echo over the dolly. Which really stemmed from the 6100 not feeling as good to me as my 7910. The Echo did feel more like a 7910 to me. Ultimately I came to realize 60cc saws are ghey;). Mostly I either used a 70/80cc saw or used my Echo 501, and the 6100 just sat.

I think if you don't regularly wrench on your own saws the choice should probably come down to dealer support. It's pretty easy to get parts for both shipped to your door if you like to fix your own stuff.

The 6100 I feel does benifit with modding the carb. It seems to run out of fuel after being ported and benifits from more fuel being avalable.
It has a small needle feed and a single outlet in the main nozzle. Increasing the needles feed tunnel and drilling a second feed in the main nozzle helps.
