Why, is there issues with the 029's that I don't know about?

All of this is a perfect example of Husqvarna and their better design. ;)
Having to pull the jug to fix a clamp on a rubber intake boot that was originally attached with a plastic wire tie is piss poor engineering. The very reason why I won't buy one. This was given to me by my FIL. That is bad enough.
I'll stick with my Stihl's and be very happy. Thank you.
Just out of curiosity have you put a intake boot on an 026 without pulling the jug ? [emoji2]

There tough saws and run ok after muff mod but the AV buffers are a pain to take apart and put back together. The saw has to be taken apart fairly far to remove cylinder. And you need sealant like the 350 to seal cylinder/bearings.

Though your 029 runs well, I will never tear one apart again. Too much of a pain. I can have a 350 disassembled in an hour.

you'll end up fiddling with trying to get that clamp on for longer than that if you attempt to do it without taking the jug off. imho.

Bill is a lot more adept at these than I am for sure.... so if he says it can be done I'll believe him. But I wouldn't attempt it myself lol

AND the comparable saw to an 029 is a 455 rancher.... which I can also have apart in an hour. far easier to work on...

currently my preference is to work with the 350's ... 262s 372 and 394s.... gonna stick with those models for now hehe

That's a hell of a list in my book Matty.

My preferences are to cut wood with Stihls. Specifically 026's, 440's, 660's. Lol

They're just a pain to work on if the need arises.
That and they're heavy underpowered, crappy handling pigs, just an overall underwhelming saw. Offhand I can't think of anything specific to like about them other than that they're easy to sell for more than they're worth.

Yikes.
Kept me fully stocked with wood for 23 years. As well as a few other people. Started every time I needed it. Ran flawlessly. Other than that, I don't know.
Use guys are all haters. Lol

Sounds like a good idea, husky day. Hopefully @RI Chevy doesn't bring any stihls . I'm going to bring a 910 that Dan and I were talking about splitting the case, a 930, 385xp and 394xp I want to get some more run time on new piston in it.

At least those Jonsereds are sorta distantly related to 288xp but not really. I guess Jonsered is now owned by husky so it counts :D

Is it still a 'go to' saw now that you own real ones? My modded 350's still are for me...
I cut a chit ton of wood with my 031 when it was my only saw for 25 years (edit; guess it was more like 15 yrs now that I stop to think) but don't have much use for it these days.

There's plenty of Stihl's I really like but their clammy's aren't on that list.
