Maybe some milling? If you have logs that are big enough to mill? Maybe a small project saw? How toos?

It would have to be freehand milling. I don't have a mill....
What would you like to learn how to do Jeff?

The milling bracket that attaches to the saw to mill logs. I have never seen the milling in action. I thought it may be pretty cool to see.

Do you have one?
And do you mean an Alaskan type, or the small bracket that rides on a 2x?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting a lesson from an expert in chain sharpening and carb adjustment. I'm all about learning.

I'll second that -- maybe do some comparisons between chains to see how we do. I can usually get a chain that is dull to cut as good or seems even a touch faster than new in box LGX.
I'd also like to learn out to touch up some square filed chains that have come my way recently! I have no clue on square file -- need a file and then some instruction!

Yes. That is what I meant. Sorry for the confusion. No, I do not have one. I have seen it done on you tube, and TV only.

Dan, I can do some milling & show how I do square for anyone who is interested.

Will only mill a short piece for demonstration, would just need you to make me a guide (in case I take the Mustang again).

Just a 1X6 (or 2X6) on the bottom, and a 2X8 attached perpendicular in the middle (leaving a 2" shelf on each side). One 5 or 6' long should be plenty. If my friend comes and takes his F-150 I can put mine in there, but if not ...

Pics of some 2X12" Red Oak I milled the other day, and a pick of my 8' guide on a piece of Shag Hickory.

So who is all coming guys. It's just about a month away. We've got a couple guys coming quite a distance so I'm planning Friday and Saturday night to have a campfire and sit around and chat. It would be nice to have any of you plan for chilling out here also for a while. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm hoping to take Friday off to help with setup and be there at least Saturday. If at least motorcycle brake dyno is usable we can use it. Not sure where things are on hydraulic setup. I won't have another set of electronics ready for Diesel Shawn's dyno as too much other things going on. Once things calm down over the winter I'll definitely have time to work on advancing the electronics for dynos!

Dan, can you put a list together of phone #'s ... and send a text reminder day before? I probably won't forget, but who knows!

Bringing a 394xp that is newly worked over, and Dr. Al ported 262xp with a newly added 87 carb :)

I'll bring 350 #5 for giggles too. :)

Did you steal it off the one you got the other day?

I'm probabaly coming up early Saturday morning and staying over till Sunday.

Not sure if Friday night is in the cards for me.

I have an Alaskan Milling Bracket and a 36" bar hooked up to my MMWS066. I can bring it up if you guys wanna play.

I'm gonna try to get a few saws built before the event. Namely, my Christmas saw and the NWP026. Times not on my side though. By next Friday, I will have worked 24 of the 26 calendar days since September 18th.

Let me know what to bring. I'm good for the burgers and dogs again. There's no sausage left, but I can bring up the mozzarella curd. I can probably grab bread in the Boogie Down on the way up Saturday morning.
