Converting 50:1 to 40:1

I burn around 200 to 250 gallons of saw gas per year, I've tried many different oils, and ratios. Done with all the hype and wishwash in my life, so what I found works the best the way I use a saw is echo red armor at 50 to 1.
Have yet to bury a saw in my back yard due to lubrication failure.

Synthetic supertec is good too. Probably the best value out there.

With all the talk about oil mix leaning out a combustible mix in the saw and making it run a little stronger ,wouldn't water in the gas have the same effect?
Is mix oil non combustible?

Water in the gas sure made my saw run like *s-word. No power. Lol

Yup it should, but in a conventional valve motor it generates more power when you mist the intake track with water, the steam will allow more particles of fuel to attach to fuel, and it cools. Windshield fuild with methanol is best.
But a petroleum product is combustible, even oil (diesel) so how is adding additional mix oil leaning out the engine to the point of seizure? I have heard this repeatedly but have never seen any proof of it, plenty of pictures of straight gas pistons and air leak pics but this whole argument of too much oil sounds like parroting of some shop trying to get out of warranty work.
Lets see some oil saturated crank and piston pics with a smeared piston?history on the saw woild be good too.

Water would cool and make more power if you could evaporate it, but a carb can’t…unless maybe there was a separate reservoir and jet.

Water in gas just acts like a plug, they don’t mix.

my theory is that the oil does burn and oil contains more energy and burns slower than gasoline, so it pushes on the piston longer, produces more heat, and seals the rings better.

Need to get @Red97 or @Dieselshawn to do some ratio dyno power and temp testing. ;-)

…or I have an idea for a redneck chassis “dyno” if I get a round tuit.

Heck, when I get home I might do some informal testing. Saber at 100:1 and 18:1. See if there’s a difference in what RPM it 4 strokes at and cut times.

deuce guys do it because deuces don’t have room for intercoolers. If you’re lucky you don’t throw a rod, ha!

I build my own on a turboed 318 mopar. Basically a mist bar drilled into a carb plate and a high pressure pump.
It did work a little enough to avoid knock.

I think it was regular gas water that got to my leaf blower and power washer. Of course the original weed wacker plug was pretty sludged!
The plot thickens!
