I was thinking the same thing,, has it been reset.. are you using a different fuel/oil mix, from where ever it came from..

I know the diagnostic tools are there for ts500i, it should be easy for stihl to update the mdg1 to include the ms500 in the menu

Yea, last time I used a mdg1 was a year ago. Havent worked at a service dealer since then.

It doesn’t seem to work on the 500, being it is fuel injected. It just goes to full throttle.

You might be able to follow the standard M-Tronic re-set (like that applicable to the 661). I don't know the procedure
myself but I think @Mastermind or @huskihl might know it.

I cut with a guy out of Tri-City that was 23 and had five kids, so he was one up on you. His dad had Wally Plikat's cutting contract for years
