537251302 is the correct kit, partition and clamp.

Onan, the 346xp i'm working on now has a ripped boot, right at the impulse nipple. whoever installed the metal clamp, wasn't careful with the impulse nipple, and ripped it. so this IS possible.

the intake clamp in the correct kit is a bit tricky to get right. when I use them, and i've used quite a few, I grind on the tab on the clamp to make it easier to slip...and then grip. you'll see what I'm talking about. the gripper tab on the clamp is too square/sharp on one side, and it needs to be rounded. "grip" side of the tab needs to stay square and sharp.

linemans pliers work best for the clamp

I wasn't saying it was impossible Matt, just saying that I have never seen one personally. You should always check the boot on every saw you have apart, but the ones in this series seem to be pretty durable.

Onan, I agree completely, and I was suprised to find the piece ripped, but Randy mentioned to me it happens often. Gotta go easy with these pieces.

What is utterly stupid.... around here nobody has that clamp in stock. Thats why I order stuff from Spike60 now.... he knows his stuff. I have 4 husky dealers in easy reach of my house.... they carry near on ZERO for parts... I cannot believe they don't regularly stock these clamps.... the plastic clamp is one of the dumbest things husky has ever done... the least they could do is stock the right part at their dealers

I know all about trying to do saturday evening repairs, but mistakes with these clamps kill saws... don't wanna be risking that.

Thanks, for the all the replies especially with the part numbers. I'm going to order a new partition and a 390 clamp. I cut the whole clamp off because that is what a few people had done on another site. After I cut the clamp off I realized it help support the intake boot.

FYI for canucks, that Napa part number don't work in Canada for some reason and the local napa couldn't cross it. I just use a stihl clamp

I bought a scored 353, and it's impulse port was melted even more than this. Guy was running a dull chain and of course the plastic clamp helped the process along.
