Whats your favorite type ? Brands and styles ? Is skillsaw a good brand still these days ? or is there a better option ?

If you are asking, I assume that Snap On doesn't offer one?

If I need to cut lumber I usually haul out a chainsaw. If I need more finesse then the saw-zall

My skill saw has the blade in backwards for cutting steel

I do not think snap on have much carpentry stuff ,my carpentry elec tools have been milwaukee so far ,she circular worm drive i had still runs ok ,but the table is broken ,and it bent first fall off the ladder ,no one seems to want to sell me a table for it locally ,i am happy with the one i got so far ,it is lighter than the milwaukee and smoother also ,i can actually cut plywood straiter with it for some reason too
I cut lumber with my chainsaw also ,but it is bolted to this jig .

Circular saws are another thing I have an abundance of. From what I already had plus from my deceased father I must have close to a dozen .The Craftsmans are both metal and plastic ,two are 71/2" as oppossed to the usual 7 1/4" .

The best of the lot is an older Milwaukee .

I once managed to cut the cords on two saws while in a rush to build a concrete form .That was rather dumb on my part.

Been looking for a Rockwell or Porter Cable 314 4 1/2" trim saw. They are no longer made and hard to find in good condition at a reasonable price.

Finally got a Rockwell 314 off ebay. Changed the gearbox oil and replaced power cord plug as someone removed the ground.

I've also got an older Craftsman 9" radial and a cast iron Craftsman cast iron table 12" direct drive tilt arbor table saw that will rip a pine 4 by 4 as fast as you can shove it through . It will also dim the lights on start up .

My dad was a carpenter he liked the old skil saws before they competed with black and decker and got cheap i think in his shop.he still has an old 8 1/4 in solid aluminum case one.he was inly carpenter that ran. 81/4 in said you could cut. All the way thru 4/4 without turning lumber over or something luke that.was we he likex the 8 1/4 then he started with makita when still got cheap.

A 314 Porter Cable
A 5" Makita that I use just for sheet goods.
First time I used it I trimmed the guide. Aluminum.
My brother freaked. Lol
Like the edge up and go.
And I made a foot and guard and made up a saw for an angle grinder.
Small wide carbide blade. Great for repairing sub flooring. Nails and all.
These are the ones that do hard jobs well.

It might have been a milling cutter. As in Bridgeport

I used it at my brothers and haven't seen it much. Maybe he has it.
It was durable. But dusty as crap!!!
Set it just short of the joists

Yeah, Skilsaw is good. I've read about it in Sawinery and it instantly became my top option for a circular saw. When I got the chance to purchase one, its the brand that I got. Never regretted that decision ever.
