I have seen listings for the Stihl OEM tools and also the bux tools circlip installers. @Definitive Dave has a good listing of the Stihl ones in his Ebay store as well.

When trying to determine what says use each size of circlip it was hard to put together which ones to invest in. Does a list exist for Stihl saws that shows the circlip size for each model of saw? Thought it would be a good list to put together.

Meteor's website lists pin diameters for the pistons they sell

Measure the diameter of the circlip wire
Some AM circlips are thicker than oem and go into a wider groove in the AM piston

I've got the 10mm and 12mm one Cole. Stihl not exactly a walk in the park every time.

Those are the two most common Stihl sizes, so for the other oddball sizes, I just go back to the small screwdriver/bleeding all over/bandaid method.

They are a major beoch with Meteor clips. They tend to be thicker and the groove in the slug correspondingly larger.

Thanks for the info guys. Hands aren't small so it is a chore most times to get them in and always worry about potential bending. Will invest in a few tools.

x2. I have the 10 and 12 as well. Only 2 sizes I've invested in so far. And mine come from Dave.

I bought buxtools installers for ten and twelve before I ever tried the Stihl tools, thought it was great at the time but they weren't very precise, better than installing freehand but still chased clips around the garage
Stihl tool is waaaay better in my opinion

Does anyone have P/N for the 9mm tool? I'm sick of bleeding and bouncing them round the shop on these top handles I'm doing

I do dozens of 200ts and all I use is a pick. Takes 1 minute ea. It is the technique. Tell me how exactly you put them in?
