I did buy a lot of the USA Cohibas recently too without trying them, because they were like 85 bucks a bundle of 25 and I'd never had them.

I bought a bunch of the Cohibas as well when I first started about a year ago.

Puro Dominicana are my favorites.

Damn. I have 10-15 of these. I’ve tried a couple others. I like aj blends pretty well but these are just out of my wheelhouse. That said I think they’re getting better. I’ll probably go a year or so before I try them again. I don’t hate it. But I guess my favorite aj blend is the southern draw jacobs ladder. It’s wicked strong but smooth if that makes sense. Made my knees a little funky lol

Damn Jim.......both posts are a beautiful sight! Very nicely done!

I only have the Red Dots, Blacks, and the Blue's. Those were the only ones on Freefall. I'll have to keep an eye out for the others to either be on freefall, or on sale somewhere maybe.

I only bought them because you, Dave and Chvy all liked them, if I remember right. I couldn't get over saving 300 bucks a bundle. So I bought 2 of the Blacks and 2 Red Dots.

I really need a cabinet humidor, so I can be organized. These foot lockers are a pain to go through.

The Ave Marias had great reviews so I went whole hog & bought a bunch of them. I haven’t had any that were overpowering & none of them have been outstanding either…
I will have to check out the Jacobs Ladder.

And also @JimBear ..............these beads are still fantastic! These are way better than buying Boveda's constantly. Now that both foot lockers have settled in, I'm getting about 3 weeks before I charge them and it's not that I need to, but the outside beads are white enough. Humidity is as steady as with Boveda's. That's with running a wood stove in a dry part of the country too.

I’m out of the jacobs ladder. Liked it in toro the best. Had the lancero too. It’s worth a single strong as heck but very good

I got you............So I have a Havana Foot Locker, 2 actually and a glass top humidor. I used to run the exact same Boveda packs you run, because the 69% would make my stogies too moist and they wouldn't burn worth a *s-word.

So Jim said he runs the beads and shows me his setup and holds my hand through the process, because I too am pretty thick at times.

Basically, they are the same concept as the Boveda packs. But, instead of throwing out the packs and buying new, you just take the nylon bag thingy, or tube, that the beads are in, spray it with distilled water, wait a few minutes, wipe down any excess water and put it back in your humidor. I put mine on a paper plate and spray them till the outside beads are clear. Then I wait a few, for the moisture to reach the inner beads.

The release moisture, and suck up excess, just like Boveda's, but it's a one time cost. They even have 2 different humidity levels IIRC. I run the 70's.

When they're full of moisture, they're clear. When they lose moisture, they turn white. So you have a visual of the beads, plus a hygrometer, if you use one.

I wasted a lot of money on Boveda's, because I didn't understand the beads and never took the time to learn........ Boveda's were the easiest, but now that I use the beads, I feel like I got took, buying all those Boveda's.

Pictures suck, because it's dark, but this'll give ya an idea of what they are.

You know you can recharge those bovedas though. I’ve even recharged the ones hard as a rock.

I only learned that after I got the beads. So I tried to recharge 2 of them, in a container with distilled water (not touching), for a week and they were hard as a rock again in 3 days.

The beads last indefinitely. So there's no real concern of damage, like I've heard of with Boveda's.

If they're working for you, recharging them, that's awesome, because I didn't have any luck with it. These beads recharge in a few minutes.

So if your bovedas are just getting light. Like not hard and crispy.
Put all of em in a sealed Tupperware with a little Tupperware/bowl inside. Fill little bowl with distilled water. Ignore for a month. Go get them out and rotate them back where they belong. I’ve been running my same packets for years. They still hold correct humidity according to my hygrometers

if you
Let him get crispy you can spray them dos. Like the beads and shake the hell outta Tupperware every day. They’ll come back and work. I try not to ever let them get that way but sometimes you forget.

I may switch to beads when I deplete what I’m running. I just re upped on boveda though. Because it was on sale. Haven’t even opened them. Just had to have them cause. Well they were on sale.

Well I'll be damned. I didn't put a ton of effort into it and mine were rock hard. My foot locker hadn't been in use for awhile.

You don't need the beads. You've got the Boveda packs figured out. I thought maybe you were constantly buying new like I was.

I try to rotate like I mentioned but yeah. I forget until my numbers get wonky. The beads sound pretty easy.
