First 262 I ported that happened to me[emoji33]
Now I know to check for it. [emoji23]

So that was an honest beginner's mistake. Would a proper thickness copper washer under the plug have remedied that condition?

It was a raffle Saw I ported for @Boozer. I didn't have time to tear it down so I doubled up on spark plug washers. He doesn't live too far from me and he knows if there are any problems to bring it back. He's had it a good while now and hasn't had any that I'm aware of.
So in answer to your question, I think that would work just fine. [emoji41]

I don't know that I would use a 390XP bearing and seal assembly in an 064, but I did build a 385 once using a new OEM 660 bearing and seal combo on the PTO side and it worked great. It was a landing saw for a local logger that went a little over two years on that set-up before getting smashed.
So the crank diameter would fit. The OD obviously fits.... so, it must work?

You do have to be careful who does a saw for you. There are those that do great work and will stand behind what they do. I've had saws done by 4 different people and 2 of those I will never send anything to again and the other two are class acts all the way around. I've even known of one guy who received a saw back from getting ported and the spark plug was hitting the piston.

Just can't let go of things can you? How many years has this been now?! I was NEVER contacted be the owner and even tried to contact him myself. What more can I do? I've even tried to make things right with you. You're problems are by your own by choice.

JMS, that you? Always someone else's fault, good to see some things never change.
