We are needing a solution to mount a saw on a couple tractors when we work ground and plant. We generally run into trees across field roads or in edges of fields as we are disking ground. This is on a WMA so it’s not like a general farm. We use a JD6155M with loader to pull the smaller disk. Are the SawHaul or other chainsaw carriers any count? The other option is to build a platform for the quick hitch up high so it doesn’t hit the disk and strap one to it. Probably throw one of older 290 or 310s on it so we aren’t loosing anything major, lol.

I chose the itc saw boss after hearing folks complain about the scabbard breaking on many of the other options. I also like that I can use the same bracket for the tool box and saw mount. That allows me to exchange the saw scabbard or tool box depending on the task at hand. Sometimes that tool box is in the way of where I want to shoot wood chips.IMG_5687.jpeg

It wasn’t cheap, but built with pride here in the USA.

Thanks. That looks like a good option.

I’d buy it again. I’ve used it a year and it seems bulletproof. I forgot to mention the scabbard is open on the bottom so any length chainsaw “blade” will fit. That silver box by the tool box is a galvanized chain box. I keep choker chains in there.

I see more of an issue of were to mount anything on the JD6155M, the tractor is so compact in terms of wheel base and lack of a surface big enough to mount a saw that wont get clipped or is in reach while standing on the ground. The cab steps that you dont always use might be the spot without having the JD right in front of me.

Ours is an OOS. I think I found a spot to add the ITC one with some mount modifications.

John Deere supplies this one. The price looks good for an OEM accessory. Looks like it has various mounting options, including near the rear hitch.

Edit: I looked at the compatibility chart and the 6155M model tractor isn't listed. Shame. Maybe this saw holder could be modified to fit on that model?

This is what I did. Cutting board from Uncle Wally's, little bit of stainless hardware and a couple of pipe hanger clamps. Been working beautifully for years now. Will hold a 30cc top handle up to 80cc with 24 bar. Mounted to the brush guard.

Hmm, I think I may have some 1/2 HDPE sheet left over from another project. Maybe it’s long enough! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that!
