I occaisionally cut pines, I would have to say they are the softest species with spread out growth rings I encounter. I usually run full chisel chain and it lasts well, pine makes your saw feel super fast, its fun to noodle. I always keep a few rounds to noodle into boards then cut with a hatchet for good kindling and save some noodles to start the fireplace. 20+" pine would be fun GTG wood that would keep up the RPMz.
You would love cottonwood fresh or dry it's like a wire through water

My first go ever at a race stand
Same 044's, same eucalyptus hardwood.
don't know why the chain wouldn't bite on the upcut but im thinking the chain was lifting up in the groove and tilting.
we swapped logs and went again in the 2nd video and I found my stride

WARNING: CONTAINS BAD LANGUAGE.
Not Safe For Work

I cooked a heap of potato and onions in the fire wrapped in baking paper and foil.
a couple packages had a heap of chopped up home grown very hot Jalapeno chill's (hotter than they normally are) in the packs.

Here is one of the boys after a few beverages when he popped a whole potato in his gob strait out of the coals
