I occaisionally cut pines, I would have to say they are the softest species with spread out growth rings I encounter. I usually run full chisel chain and it lasts well, pine makes your saw feel super fast, its fun to noodle. I always keep a few rounds to noodle into boards then cut with a hatchet for good kindling and save some noodles to start the fireplace. 20+" pine would be fun GTG wood that would keep up the RPMz.

Some pine soft but you can find some hard knoty stuff down my way.

I got some but was too busy swinging off saws

I got to run a Stihl 415v 3 phase electric saw and a 1974 dolmar rotary saw with origional bar and factory chain fitted

Dam pics or video of the Stihl?
