Shindaiwa studs also press in. I have used a telescoping magnet through the oil fill hole to get them started into the case, then used a bar nut and stack of washers to pull them into position until seated.

Do the Jonsered studs have inadequate clearance when the case is assembled to perform the swapperoo?

There is room to work through the filler hole.

Do you ever tap them out, place new ones in with forceps, set with a long punch and tighten in with bar in place?

I have done it without splitting the case. I wanted to clean this saw up good anyway, and clean the oil tank extra good to be able to use Loctite on the studs.

Nice one Randy, was that in the set you got from me? Never tried to use them on anything bigger than a 372

Yes sir Joe. This is the first chance I've had to use it. I'll be doing two 359s as soon as my case gaskets arrive too.

Part number?
Which saws does it fit on?
Does it work on both sides of the crank?
Why is the sky blue?
Why are my boogers green?

It's threaded on one end for the flywheel threads, and on the other for the clutch threads. I'll get you a part number when I get in the shop.

Integral seal on the PTO side of the 2188 Brewz, heat will wreck that $55.00 bearing.

Yes sir. And then there are the fragile as hell 5 series saws.

I use heat to seat the bearing in most cases, but I've yet to find anything that works better than pulling the crank into the bearing.

I dont like putting lateral force on a bearing or dragging it in/out of a housing cold

Is the inner race supported as it goes onto the crank?

I think I have 4-5 crank mounting kits, this one reminds me of 545/550/555/560/562 kit.

After I bought the first kit it's hard crank them together without using the tool ;) luckily my dealer let me buy those kits for their cost price

Still ain't cheap. :BangHead:

I noticed that Joe said yes, and I said no to the question about the inner race. Yes, it is supported on the PTO side, but not on the flywheel side.

Should have been more specific, thanks for clarifying sir.

The Stihl tools are far more complicated, and don't support the inner race on either side.
