That was my 1st thought, althoug the less I know the better. There is quite a few of them out there...

August Hunicke, someone that I dearly respect, too complained about some of his ported saws, all done outside of the OPE family, not measuring up to his standards, and the price ... way way too ridiculously high.

The prices that the builders charge here inside our OPE family, extremely fair for the quality of craftsmanship performed.
Yep we’ve weeded out several bad apples here over the years. We have a pretty good group now.

August and Reg Cotes are about the only good true tree men on the Toob.

I was and am of the opinion that ported saws are for those that:
- don't know what a sharp chain is
- can't be bothered to swap out or touch up/sharpen a chain that lost its edge, but still cuts when "pushed".

If You waited 15 months for Your saw to get ported then You didn't need it ported to begin with!

But hey, WTF do I know - I don't run saws commercially.
As such I "do NOT" apologize for possibly hurting any whimps feelers - instead I recommend , grow a pair!

Happy Easter!

P.S.:
Factory stock PS-550 ("small") & PS-6400 ("mid to big") FTW!!!

And round ground full chisel Oregon (Dolmar 099) or Husqvarna X-Cut.
well, i think you are ignorant. the fact of the matter is i can sharpen a chain just fine but at the end of the day, a good ported saw gets work done faster. when its your job, that matters. thats fine that you like stock saws, but dont insult guys who actually do work with their saws by saying the only reason to use ported saws is because they cant sharpen chains or swap chains. yeah we dont swap chains on a job unless we absolutely have to. much faster to just grab another saw. bring your stock 9010 and start cutting on stuff like this and me and my ported 394 will be home havin dinner while your out *f-wordin with chains IMG_2688.jpegIMG_2679.jpegIMG_2741.jpegIMG_2838.jpeg

Fellers at the end of the day we all like saws here…

(well I’m kinda over them after running them most days for 25-30 years but I digress)

They all eat wood and shït chips 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ported saws just happen to do it faster😘

Wow really in the dishwasher?... I put a chamois in the washing machine once and the wife didn't speak to me for 2 years! lol

I put most of an 056Mag II in the dishwasher. Did you know it took the paint off the metal decal or emblem on the starter cover, whatever you call them.
Came out just shiny metal. So,don't do that.

HAPPY EASTER !!!!!!

Randy Happy Easter to you too my friend.

The 562mk1 from 2016 you did for me bucked up some nice logs, a happy family get together for Easter Monday, BBQ, Easter egg hunt for the kids, and us older kids ... some fine Tennessee whiskey.

As good as is gets half way around the world.

All the best 🍸🍸🍸
