Hey fellas
I am starting my build on my little Sthil 024 & i have hit a snag i put the bearings in the crankcase & now when i put the case together the crankshaft will not spin freely fellas what iam I doing wrong PLEASE I NEED HELP FRIENDS

I am starting my build on my little Sthil 024 & i have hit a snag i put the bearings in the crankcase & now when i put the case together the crankshaft will not spin freely fellas what iam I doing wrong PLEASE I NEED HELP FRIENDS

If the bearings spun freely at each stage before you tried sandwiching the two cases back together then I would guess that the bearings are being side loaded.
Either bearings aren't completely seated in their pockets, or crank is not fully seated in bearings, or a little of both.

Need to smack the ends of the crank with a soft hammer to unload the bearings

Personally, I use a center punch and regular hammer, but my methods aren’t for everyone

THANK YOU I POPPED THE CRANKSHAFT WITH MY RUBBER HAMMER & NOW THE CRANK FEELS LIKE IT'S FLOATING WHEN I TURN IT. TICKLED WITH YOUR ANSWERS FELLAS
