So...

I needed my boots dry fast, I decided the wood stove would be perfect but apparently i.put them too close. The glued sole is separating now. Can I fix it? Are they junk? I paid way too much to just trash them.

I have tried some boot glue and automotive weather strip glue and neiter worked.

Ended up doing this. Granted these were on there last leg. 20170211_055528.jpg
Self tapping screws through the top and then ground the excess off with a bench grinder.

I'll go that rout if absolutely necessary but hopefully not. Maybe I can find a shoe repair place?

A good cobbler/shoe repair shop will re-glue the sole. Before using the cordless, a handful of screws & angle grinder to fix your boots, get some advice from someone with expertise in shoe repair.

Agree with what was said before by cr888. Bring them to a cobbler and they will rip the sole off and reglue them. Very extreme temps will delaminate the glue and your sole will separate. Best thing to use on full grain leather boots is Obenaufs L.P. boot grease. Keeps the water out and also conditions the leather. Some use snowseal but it is a petroleum based product and actually seals off the pores of the leather therefore causing your boots to not breath properly. A simple cleaning and greasing every 2 months will make your boots go a long ways. :)

I would find a good cobbler as well.not as easy today as in past. Today is a throw away world. I know on my nice luchesse dress boots i wore heels and soles off i took them to a good cobbler they were as good as new when done.

I would go with what they said lol. I just wanted show off my bedazzled boots lol. They weren't worth paying a cobbler.

I've used shoe goo brand glue and have had great success in the past. You have to make sure that they are dry and free of grease, oil, dirt and dust or it won't work out too well. The next step maybe some epoxy? That is use these options if you choose not to take them to a reputable shoe/boot repair place.

Those are a nice pair of boots. They actually make those same boots for the military along with many others at a boot and shoe factory in Roaring Springs Pa not far from where I live. You can find some great deals at the company's outlet store.

They are actually supposed to be the Marine issued warm weather boot. Not completely sure.. I just really appreciate A good boot! Still breaking them in a year and a half later. Very comfortable now

Shoe goo. Clean them. That’s important. Use a scraper to make sure you get a nice coating in the gap. Clamp then let em dry. They need to be clean. Then I smear some on the outside over the repair
