Been really behind this year. Day job & all. Yesterday, I had the opp to go cut some firewood after it quit raining. So, I took my MMWS babies ( 562 & 353) out to the woods...

The game commission did a so called, controlled burn recently that engulfed my tract.... :( Anyways, certainly got after it yesterday.

Ended up getting a couple decent loads back to the woodshed.

Certainly have a lot more to do, & am planning on a full day of it next week but, do have my stove up & running, & a start on this years heat/hot water..

So, my Stihl buddy came to get a load too. Didn't make it through the 1st tree, & his 290 was down. His oiler *s-word the bed, & he started using my 353. I offered the 562 but, he preferred the lighter one. Well, I'll be damned if not 4 cuts into blocking if, my bar had a pretty good malfunction. The sprocket on the end came apart.

Have never seen this happen before..! Maybe the mastermind treatment was finally too much for the stock husky bar  This was a 4yr old, stock husky bar, that I put on in Oct '15 right when I got my 353 back from Tenn.

I've cut my own firewood for close to 25yrs now. Until last season, I was always working on a 1 saw plan, not including any buddies that were there as well. Although yesterday, between the 2 of us, we went to the woods with 3 saws, & 30 minutes in, we were down to 1.

Fortunately, the 562 just winked & said lets giterdun boys. She chewed up, & spit out about a cord & 1/2 or so. Ordered a new Sugi for the 353 last night, & should be ready to go by the weekend. Planning on taking a full day one day next week, & filling up the dump truck.

Since last year, I don't go to the woods without both saws anymore. Sure was glad I upgraded to a 2 saw plan. Ol lady just rolled her eyes when I got the 562 :risas3:

Now, how about that top handle saw

I think maybe @Mastermind put too many bananas in your saw lol.

May be. Although, after running hot rods, stock doesn't do it for me anymore  I should've bought a better bar for it awhile ago. I think she'll be just fine when the new Sugi gets here:)

Yep, you want one of those too.
Getting there...lol. I'm at the want stage right now. Haven't made it to, gotta have yet. I guarantee there's one in my future. Just not sure when ;)

Let me know when you wanna pull the trigger on an MS201TC. By far the best top handle saw available at the moment.

They are pretty pricey little saws....but nothing else on the market compares.
Most things worth having are. ;)

I know I've read a LOT of great reviews on em. I've also talked to a few pros that have them. The Husky one doesn't have near the satisfied users. At least from what I've read, & directly heard.

I’ve had a husky bar spread open like that that was less than a year old. It was on a 540xp and I figured it was due to husky top handles being garbage, why wouldn’t their top handle bars.

The 201tc is a spectacular saw with a light bar, very spendy and worth every penny.

I've had it for close to 8 yrs. I wasn't much on em, until I bought this one. I'm a believer now..! It's my go to woods vehicle. I hunt, fish, & fetch firewood outta this. Helps keep the miles off my big truck too.

I can't even begin to count how many pounds of firewood I've hauled in that truck. Little booger goes about anywhere. Been very reliable too. I finally broke down this spring, & put some money into it. Hope to get another 10yrs or so out of it. Have 173,000 on it is all. I think my body will fall off before it dies :D

I saw a lot

That was all she could handle there. That was live oak. Pretty heavy. Had a little more weight on that load than I should've. Dead dry wood, I'd have loaded the back more..lol.

I burn quite a bit so, if I'm gonna go to the woods, might as well get a load...!! :D

I’ve had two of those I still have one for work. I’m at like 250000 one new head and a couple head gaskets. Tough as nails

@Mastermind what about the Echo tophandles? Have heard nothing but good things about them.

:asz:

Sharp edges on the plastic will amputate your fingers.

Just kidding. LOL

They're actually really good saws. The CS355T is a strong runner, but is a clamshell design, so not something I mess with often. The CS2511T is a great small top handle. Beats the MS150T at the tiny saw game. Costs a lot less too.

But, for more than a trim saw, a real strong performing climbing or bucket saw, the MS201TC is king of the heap.

At least from my perspective.
