I agree it'd be a bloody pig to make out of stainless though, you'd have to make some billet steel dies to press them on or get creative with the welding. But then if you were going to all that trouble I'd probably look at other options

I'd tig it from the inside. That way I could polish the weld on the outside. Only other option would be a purge box like for welding titanium.

I went ahead and bought one of these when Bryce first listed them for $55. I'll see how it goes on a rebuilt 084.

I bet I'd have 2 hours in one minimum. I'll try it after I get about 12 saws together and gone.

084 custom muffler. Not mine. I gotta give the guy some credit. He got the saw running and cutting wood again. Sometimes you just gotta do what you have to.

And if mike doesn't sort something I will before summer. May need to borrow an 084 muffler to get dimensions from the back though. Id build a one piece billet milled ally from the back outwards with a flat front face plate with your opening custom sized, but looking as oem as possible. Probably have about 6 hours in the prototype but getting a batch cnc milled should bring the price down to oem ms880 prices or less.

The sky's the limit with this, it's just finding the god damn time to do it! And with that I feel mike probably has a better chance than me at present!
