Finally got around to getting rid of that pos cat muffler on my 2152. I tested my saw first with the cat in a 16 inch piece of red oak. Then installed the non cat muffler retuned and cut. Then muffler mod and cut well I gained 4.5 - 5 seconds! I was surprised I took vids I'll try to post them. Anyone else have great gains from a muffler mod? My 2159 was good but I don't know if it was this good.

I ported my 353 and gutted the muffler. Originally I opened up the stock hole some and it ran OK. After adding a 2nd port in the muff it really woke up. Now I have a NE 346 top end to play with if I ever get the time.

I bought an Echo 360TES in May 2015 (I think it's called a 355TES in the US?). I'd owned an Echo 350TES for 6 years prior (I think it's called a 360TES in the US? Confusing isn't it!) - I was very happy with the 350. It was a great work saw, put food on the table & paid my bills! But, it got old! So, I bought the 360. What a disappointment! It is well put together, but it ran very poorly. It would idle when cold, but stall, or bog if revved. It needed about 2-3 minutes to warm up before I could run it, even then, it bogged every time I revved it! :( The old 350 had more power. I started taking the old 350 to work occasionally & eventually left the 360 home altogether.

Well, about 2 months ago I thought I'd drill a hole in the muffler & see if that improved things with the 360. I was over the saw & couldn't have cared less if I wrecked it by drilling the hole in the muffler!

Well, did that wake up the saw! :) All I did was to drill a 9.5mm hole in the centre divide so as to bypass the cat in the muffler & WOW!

The saw now rips! I used to really dislike it, now I absolutely love using it! (it's now my daily work saw, as it was intended to be)

Ran both saws side by side this week, the 360 has a big edge on the 350 now (as it should, it's newer)
